Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 2 October 2026
StrengthInsight is free to read and has no subscriptions. The site is funded by affiliate commissions on a small number of product links. This page explains exactly how that works.
The short version
Disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some pages on this site contain affiliate links. When you buy through one of those links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. This does not affect what we write, and it never affects a conclusion in a guide.
Which links are affiliate links
We currently participate in one programme:
- Amazon Associates — using Amazon's own product advertising API. Links go to Amazon product pages and are tagged with our Associates ID. When you click and then buy something we may earn a commission.
Affiliate links are always marked three ways: the link carries rel="nofollow sponsored noopener", it is styled differently from ordinary internal links, and it is listed in the disclosure block near the top of the page — before you reach any of them.
Links from StrengthInsight to a manufacturer's own website are not affiliate links and earn us nothing. If a guide tells you to visit a vendor's site, we have no financial interest in you doing so.
About Amazon and the products we cover
About Amazon: Amazon is not a sponsor of this site and does not endorse, review, or approve anything published here. We are not affiliated with Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Product availability, pricing and specifications on Amazon are set by Amazon and change frequently.
On prices and availability: Where a guide quotes a price, a subscription cost, or a product specification, it was accurate at the time of writing and prices as of the date shown on the article. Wearables change handsets, bands, plans and tiers often. Treat any figure on this site as a dated snapshot and verify it with the manufacturer before making a purchase.
On membership and subscription models: Several wearables charge a recurring membership for features that look like they are included in the hardware price. Where a guide compares total cost of ownership, it states which features sit behind the paywall. Verify the current terms with the vendor.
What we will never accept
To be explicit about the limits:
- No manufacturer, vendor or affiliate network has paid for, commissioned, or reviewed any guide on this site.
- No product placement has been sold.
- No vendor has seen a guide before publication, and none can request changes.
- A commission never influences whether we write about a product, or what we conclude about it. If we do not think a product is good value, we will say so whether or not it carries a link.
- We do not accept guest posts, and we do not publish advertorial.
What money does change
Being honest about the other direction: affiliate revenue does shape what we write about. We write about wearables we can link to, which is a reason there is more coverage of consumer trackers than of, say, laboratory-grade equipment. It does not shape conclusions within a piece, but coverage is not neutral and we would rather name that than pretend otherwise.
Because commissions are small, they rarely change a verdict on a marginal product — but on a close call they can be the difference between writing a guide and not writing one at all.
How affiliate money compares to everything else
Affiliate commissions are the only revenue this site has. We have no sponsors, no subscription, no advertising network, and no data sales. We do not collect personal information from readers and we do not have accounts or user data of any kind.
Trademarks
Product names, logos and trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Mentioning a product does not imply endorsement by, or any affiliation with, the product's manufacturer. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP, Fitbit, Garmin, Apple, Oura, Hevy, Strava, Amazon, or any other company whose products we cover.
